Ensuring Your Small Business' Grand Opening Is Successful

Blog

If you are in the process of opening a new small business, you undoubtedly want as many customers to come to your establishment as possible. Some preparation is necessary to achieve this goal.

Start By Informing The Neighborhood

The bulk of your client base, at first, is most likely going to be from the neighborhood where your business is located. It is important to inform those living in the area about the grand opening to come so they are interested in stopping by to find out more about the wares or services you provide. Place flyers around town so prospective customers have time to plan for a visit. Make sure flyers are brightly-colored and use large fonts so they are seen from afar.

Provide Incentives To Check Out Your Business

Coupons or giveaways are sure to entice potential customers to come to your business for the grand opening you are hosting. Consider using an advertising service to send out mass mailings to people living in nearby communities to inform them of the opening. Giving each person a coupon for money off of a sale or alerting them about free items available at the grand opening improves the chance of a large number of visitors.

Deck Out The Business To Draw Attention

In the weeks before you plan on opening your business, add some decorations to the building's exterior to gather attention from people who pass by. Use large window signs indicating the date and time of the grand opening. Do not reveal the contents of the interior of your business' building so it remains a surprise for the opening day. To do this, cover windows with pieces of black cardboard around the signs you have placed.

Add Features On The Day Of Opening

When the day of your grand opening arrives, add some additional marketing tools to help potential customers find the right building if they had not been near it in the past. Add balloons with your business' name around the windows and doorways. Consider the installation of inflatables to place in front of your establishment. These are hard to miss and do their part in attracting the attention of passersby when they wave around in the wind. Hire a disc jockey to play music as a way to celebrate having a new business in the area. Providing free food is also a great way to attract customers toward your establishment.

There are several tools you can use to promote a grand opening. Consider using flyers, music, or grand opening advertising inflatables to alert customers to your new business.

Effectively Marketing Your Business With Signs

Using signs to market your business is a cost effective option that will keep paying for itself for years to come. But simply printing your company's name on a sign and setting it up for the world to see probably isn't going to drive the amount of business through your door that you are looking for. It's important to use branding techniques and to implement action-oriented colors into your message to enhance your chances of success. As a marketing assistant I understand first hand how hard it is for people to create their business presence, so I started this blog to help make things easier for those who want to increase their customer base. Hopefully the information here can help you!
